Considering Legal and Governance Principles: Perspectives on Civic and Indigenous Relationship Building

Indigenous, municipal, and academic leaders will join online to share their perspective on the legal and governance aspects that impact municipal-Indigenous relationships in BC. From conversations about the legal backdrop of intergovernmental relations (UNDRIP, DRIPA, TRC) to the ethical responsibilities to engage in consultation and coalition building, this event will explore the past, the present, and the future of Indigenous and local government relationships.

Panelists include:

- Chief Darren Blaney, Homalco First Nation

- Bob Simpson, former Mayor of Quesnel

- Felix Hoehn, Associate Professor, University of Saskatchewan
