Do you want to live in a healthier community?

Do you want to be a change maker?

Do you want to learn more about health system in Canada?

Ontario Chinese Health Coalition (OCHC) is a multi-disciplinary collaborative of member agencies with a mission to promote and improve the health of Chinese communities across Ontario. OCHC aims to advance health promotion and advocacy initiatives through strategic partnerships, knowledge exchange, and collective action.

OCHC is looking for volunteers who are:

  • Passionate about building a healthy community
  • Interested in civic engagement and public policy

If you are one of them, please join us and become a Change Maker. Together with our members and advocacy experts, we will develop and implement a community mobilization project to:

  • Engage community members and election candidates in discussions about health needs of Chinese communities and what the government should do to meet these needs
  • Outreach and encourage more community members to register and vote in upcoming elections
  • Advocate for healthy public policy

Through this project, YOU will gain:

  • Knowledge about Canadian health system, health policy and community development
  • Skills in community engagement, event planning (all candidates debate/town hall meetings), public speaking and leadership
  • Opportunities for networking and mentorship, and interacting with political leaders and election candidates

Register Today! First meeting starts on Saturday, March 22, at North York Civic Centre from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.

 Topics include:

  1. Health needs of the Chinese community
  2. How is the Canadian health system structured? What is healthy public policy?
