Description

Fraser River Dialogue: Trade and the Fraser River

Did you know that annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP) associated with the Fraser River is over $4.5 billion – more than that of the St. Lawrence Seaway – and that the River is responsible for over 93,000 jobs? Or that every car that comes from Asia for sale in Canada comes through the Fraser River? Can you name all the different products that move up and down the mighty Fraser every day?

The Fraser River has long been the “economic engine” that drives British Columbia, but sometimes we take that for granted. But the Fraser River Discovery Centre is working to change all that!

That’s why our next Fraser River Dialogue on Tuesday, April 16th will focus on Fraser River Trade. We will be joined by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority’s Doug Mills who will talk about the different aspects of Fraser River-based trade and what they mean for the Lower Mainland, BC and Canada.

Tuesday, April 16 at the Fraser River Discovery Centre

6:30 pm: Registration

6:30 – 7:15 pm: Wine and Cheese Reception (Cash Bar)

7:15 – 9:00 pm: Fireside Chat
