Event description

Description

Support YouthNet/RéseauAdo’s summer outdoors program by donating to our fundraising event. We are a for youth, by youth mental health promotion program that operates out of The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. Every year, we offer a summer outdoors wellness program for youth aged 13 to 20 to help them talk about mental health all while enjoying the great outdoors. Activities such as hiking, gardening, learning about Ottawa and Gatineau’s green space, visiting farms, etc. are just one of the many ways in which we engage our youth. The purpose of this program is to encourage youth to talk about their mental health, learn new coping strategies and meet new friends while being outside! We need your support to help this program and we’re hosting a hiking fundraiser to gain your support. The goal is for you to either form a hiking team (with friends or an organization) or come as an individual and hike with us all while raising funds to hike. We’re hoping to raise $5,000.00 this year so we can continue growing our garden and so we can take youth canoeing on Dow’s Lake. All programs are free for youth so community support is instrumental. We don’t just want to collect funds, we want to see you hike with us! We’re planning on hiking the Mer Bleue Bog trail on August 20th 2017 at 10am. So sign up, form a team, raise funds and come hike with the YouthNet/RéseauAdo team! We look forward to hiking with you!
