Transform Your Lawn into a Veggie Patch
Is your lawn looking lacklustre? Tired of mowing? Has the Chafer Beetle turned your lawn into a spongy, patchy, mess? Grow a food garden instead!
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to:
- Choose a location for your future garden
- Create excellent soil conditions without digging
- Choose food plants that are appropriate for your garden
- Turn beetle-damaged lawns into productive food gardens
Heather Glass speaks and teaches workshops on various gardening related topics in the lower mainland, with a focus on growing food and working with nature . Sheet mulching is one of her favourite methods of creating space for growing . Her passion for mentoring students in school gardens has led to many kids collecting leaves , eating greens or holding a worm in their hands for the first time.
