Open Dialogue on Vulnerability - TRANSforming Service Provision

Join us in engaging in an open dialogue on gender, gender roles and a full range of gender identity
issues. This session will feature a panel-led discussion on the various transitioning pathways that highlight the interplay of trans identity with other identities (race, ethnicity, religion, family status, region of origin, etc).


This event will provide a space to learn and engage on the multiple issues trans people experience.


  • Understanding the gender spectrum
  • Speaking on the "why" regarding the integration of trans people
  • he important need to enhance resources
  • Issues regarding access to housing
  • Understanding issues around substance abuse; breakdown of the importance of not mis-gendering people
  • Trans migration: newcomers/refugees – legal process and housing
  • Knowing one's rights – many folks don't know their rights as trans
  • Policies focused around name changes: discussing the biases encompassing these issues
  • Speak on the unique obstacles associated with intersectionality: speaking about the multiple layers of marginalization
