About this event
The “who” and “why”behind the TIIRI awareness training, and why being trauma-informed matters during incident response, investigations & investigative interviewing.
Mr. Poirier is a passionate and dedicated SIU investigator and Safety & Risk Advisor, who has developed what he has named the Trauma-Informed Incident Response & Interviewing (TIIRI) awareness training to assist anyone who is interested in learning more about how certain incidents/events can have an impact on us and others. Moreover, it is because he understands that the information gleaned from the people involved in the incident/event is one of the larger and most important pieces of the investigation puzzle. Specifically, how and when that information is obtained is even more important - Why? We need to understand and respect the risks concerning trauma (the mental health of the witnesses, victims, and the responders - Do no harm) as well as the requirement to obtain reliable information.
Why we investigate & Why we should interview ethically.
To provide for an opportunity for all parties to respond. Including but not limited to: Witness(es), Complainant(s) or Plaintiff(s), Respondent(s) or Defendant(s), Victim(s), related to following but not limited to: fatal incident, critical incident, non-critical incident harassment, discrimination, intimidation (sexual or vexatious comments, physical - threats to people, the environment, family & friends), misconduct, coercion, fraud, money laundering, asset misappropriation, corruption, corporate espionage, bribery etc.
