Event description

Description

“Human beings are tender creatures. We are born with our hearts open. And sometimes our open hearts encounter experiences that shatter us. Sometimes we encounter experiences that so violate our sense of safety, order, predictability & right, that we feel utterly overwhelmed- unable to integrate, & simply unable to go on as before. Unable to bear reality. We have come to call these shattering experiences trauma. None of us is immune to them.

Yoga is a part of an ancient system meant precisely to address human suffering and particularly to address it in the body where it lives.”

Peter A Levine PhD & Steven Cope MSW

This workshop will cover what trauma is, what it does to the body & mind & how yoga can be a supportive tool in dealing with trauma. We will then experience the unique energy of a trauma sensitive yoga practice which can create a safe environment for those living with the effects of trauma.
