Learning Objectives

Participants will be able

  • to identify the most frequent defenses in those with Eating Disorders.
  • apply specific EMDR therapy strategies for decreasing dysregulation with food in those with Eating Disorders.
  • apply specific EMDR therapy strategies for decreasing dysregulation with food in those with Eating Disorders.
  • to identify specific beliefs related to different self-states or emotional parts in those with Eating Disorders.
  • to apply the AIP model and the theory of Structural Dissociation, trauma and attachment to select effective EMDR therapy strategies for those with Eating Disorders.




You will receive handouts from presentations.

Dr. Natalia Seijo


Natalia Seijo

Natalia Seijo has been practising as a psychologist for over 21 years. She is the Director of a private psychology clinic in Ferrol, Spain which specializes in the treatment of trauma, dissociation and attachment, and psychosomatic disorders. Her expertise is Eating Disorders.

She is an Approved EMDR Europe Consultant and has provided advanced EMDR training in Eating Disorders throughout Europe, South and North America.

Natalia is also the Co- director of the Masters Program in Eating Disorders at Complutense de Madrid University Spain, Associate Teacher on the subject EMDR and eating disorders, Associate Teacher on the Psychology school of University of Santiago de Compostela and lnternational Valencia University (Spain) on the practice training.
