On February 14, 2015 while taking part in the 24 Hour Numb Bum Ice Race, Troy sustained a severe injury from a single motorcycle accident. After being treated on the ice by EMT's, he was then transported by STARS Air Ambulance to the U of A hospital where he later passed away. Troy left us doing what he loved . . . he was leading the race and will always remain first place in our hearts.
Troy leaves behind his wife Carolyn and daughters Alisha and Sarah. The funds raised at the Troy Ritchie Family Fundraiser Benefit and Silent Auction will benefit his family and help them through this difficult time.
In addition to assisting the Ritchie family through this time of loss, we will be supporting STARS Air Ambulance as Troy was air lifted to the U of A. STARS offers time, hope and life-saving transport to critically ill and injured patients.
"We can wear the right equipment and plan to be as safe as possible but things can go wrong.
If it were a perfect world we wouldn’t need STARS.” Sean Craigen
