What is GAPP?

The Guided Academic Plan Program (GAPP) is a peer supported initiative designed to support all TRSM students on probation.

GAPP has undergone a makeover, and during the Fall ’19 academic term, it will be delivered via in-person workshops, small group reflections sessions with professional staff, D2L submissions and quizzes, as well as both in-person and online individual meetings with Peer Academic Coaches (PACs) and professional staff.

What are the benefits of joining GAPP?

GAPP will help you understand your barriers from past semesters, and assist you in creating realistic academic and personal development goals, tracking your progress, and inspiring your continued learning.

By participating in GAPP you will sharpen your academic skills by learning how to use study strategies and connecting with different campus supports to help you move towards a clear academic standing and improve your autonomy as a learner.

GAPP is designed to help you build habits conducive for success in five core areas of academic engagement:

1. Goal setting and motivation
2. Time management and organization
3. Self-regulation and resiliency
4. Keeping on top of your readings and assignments
5. Test-taking skills

GAPP requirements according to student's GPA

Although GAPP is open to all TRSM students on probation, there are different requirements according to the student’s GPA. For these requirements, please refer to the ASC website, under the GAPP page.
