Location & Registration Fee
We are very excited to return to our spot in the Old Main building at TRU!
The event will be held in OM3732 and adjacent classrooms. They are located in the Law section of Old Main, and will consist of 3 classrooms merged together.
The LAN Party is a paid event, you will need to register & pay to attend. The registration fee is as follows:
* Current Students: $10
* Non Students & Alumni: $15
All registration fees are due either in advance or at the door (cash and credit only). Eventbrite charges transaction fees so payment here includes that additional charge. Even if you're paying at the door, please get your ticket in advance through EventBrite to save time at the door checking in.
We are not able to provide computers at the event. Don't have a computer? That's fine too! There is still lots to do. Plus, you could also bring:

Board games are welcome and encouraged. 5-7 pm will be a board-game-only period while everyone gets set up, although they always continue throughout the night.
Spots are limited, please register or you are not guaranteed to be able to enter!
Please note that the LAN Party is an alcohol-free event.
Games List
This year, in addition to all games, we will be organizing two games for everyone to play - Minecraft, for those that have an available license of the game & Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, a free to play first person shooter (please download it ahead of time as bandwidth at the LAN party is not sufficient for downloading it there).
All games are always welcome, and are played based on the demand of LAN party attendees.

FAQs
What exactly is a LAN Party?
A LAN Party is an event where gamers of all types - PC, Xbox, Wii, Playstation - get together to eat some Doritos, drink some Mtn Dew and play some games. It's an awesome opportunity to get to know other people in the program and hang out outside of school hours.
I'm not a big gamer, is this still for me?
YES. We will have more leisure games set up for anyone who is not a hardcore gamer. Mario Kart and other casual games will be available. Board games are also welcome. This is a social event, not a hardcore event. A set of people will be just hanging out to talk with and meet.
Do I have to show up for the whole time?
No, you may come and go as you please, however you will be required to show your ticket. Some people prefer to stay quite late, and others only hang around for a few hours. The venue and event will be open as late as people want to keep playing!
Do I have to show up right at 5pm?
No, you may come and go as you please. 5-7 pm will be a board-game only period for people who like to play board games and to give time for everyone to get setup. You may show up whenever fits your schedule. Some people prefer to stay late while others hang around for a few hours only. The event will be open for as late as people want to keep playing.
Where should I park?
The event is on the third floor of Old Main. The easiest way to unload equipment is to drive to the parking lot north of Old Main (Lot A3) and use the elevator to unload. Parking here is free and permitted on weekends.
Who is this open to?
Everyone, not just TRUSU Computing Science Club Members or TRU students. Bring your friends!
Can I bring game X or gaming system Y?
Absolutely! We will have designated games so that everyone can play together on the same game if they'd like, but you're more than welcome to bring anything you want. Alternatives, such as board games and Wii games, will be available.
