Your image - what message are you sending yourself and the world with your choices?
Whether you take control of your image or not, your choices are read by everyone else.
First thought that probably pops to mind when you think about image is clothing. And while clothing choices certainly make a big impact, the other big half of this critical equation is your body language.

Learn the top 3 keys to sending a message of confidence and competence - a message that gets you that client or job offer at the rate you are worth.

1) Entering a room and approaching groups
2) Standing, Walking and Sitting
3) Vocal pitch and tone

Join Adrienne Furrie, image expert with over 20 years experience in the business and image world, as she shares her insights and tips for a simple and highly effective image management strategy.

  • Current job searching strategies aren't working?
  • Feeling isolated?

Join us in this peer support group for facilitated sharing and discussion.

Positively re-frame your experience of transition!

Laid Off Calgary meetings provide connection, support and empowerment during these economically challenged times. The ask of you is that you register in advance (here in eventbrite) and note that in the Laid Off Calgary meetings we respect confidentiality and time of each other, we are non-judgemental, we listen, and we share from our own experiences.

** Please note: the meeting starts on the advertised time, if you may be running more than 5 minutes late or may not be able to attend, please contact me in advance so we can reschedule you for another meeting **

The group meeting is 90 minutes. These meetings are open to first-timers and regulars.

We start by establishing some ground rules for the discussion then the facilitators invite conversation. There is a psychoeducational component (e.g. positive thinking strategies, learning about the stress response, finding resilience, grief process) with a key takeaway each week. With peer support participants can learn from others facing similar issues, feel more connected to others, pick up interpersonal skills and internalize lessons.

The facilitator ensures those who wish to talk can have a chance to share, or simply listen and hold space for others.

On some meetings we have special guests/industry experts attend and co-faciliate with Bianca.

Group size is capped to 12 participants each meeting.

March 28 - 1.30pm-3pm Facilitated by Bianca Sinclair and Kevin Crowe

Founder of Give a Mile - "Volunteering as a network multiplier"

Kevin Crowe Founder of Give A Mile will be discussing the power of volunteering. Give A Mile is a ‘not for profit’ online platform that enables people to visit a palliative ill loved one or people with a life threatening illness through crowdfunding of flights via donations of unused travel loyalty miles. Founded in Calgary, in three years they have given over 300 flights and 10 million miles away with a 100% volunteer team. Kevin will discuss the power of volunteering, some common myths about volunteering, the networks this can build, and the new “charity” and social entrepreneur models that are unfolding and how they can offer opportunity in this challenging economy.

April 11 - 1.30pm-3pm Facilitated by Bianca Sinclair and Sheila Taylor
"What is your networking style? ~ Evaluate your style and develop strategies to get results."

April 18 - 1.30pm-3pm Facilitated by Bianca Sinclair and Janine Rogan

Janine Rogan is a personal finance writer, speaker, and tax specialist. She is passionate about sharing financial literacy with Canadians. Financial literacy is knowledge that isn't typically taught to Canadians. We are tossed into our first jobs with no idea how to manage the financial ropes. Many people end up in over their heads, drowning in debt and living pay cheque to pay cheque. Learning the skills to mnage your money will lower financial stress and put your mind at ease.
