Description

Do you dream of being a writer? Is there a good story inside you ready to burst out? Tuesday's with OSSCO is pleased to host author Kathleen Jones as she discusses her new novel Love is the Punchline and shares with us her journey to becoming a published author.

In this workshop, you will learn that it's never too late too fulfill your dreams. Kathleen always wanted to write novels, but she needed to pay her bills, so she put off her dream to enter the corporate world. After 50 long years, Kathleen’s lifelong dream has finally coming true: her first novel, Love Is the Punch Line, was published this April by Moonshine Cove (Moonshinecovepublishing.com) . The book is available in both trade paperback and e-book formats.

Registration is required for this workshop free for 50+. Call 416-785-8570 or email ocsco@ocsco.ca or register on Evenbrite. This workshop also launches OSSCO’s own story telling and writing program offered free of charge, to people 50+ and seniors starting in June 2018.

If you've ever wanted to write and publish a book, don't miss this workshop! Kathleen Jones, a late bloomer like her 2 characters Josh and Holly, shares with us how she got started “late in life” as a novelist. Kathleen highlights:

  • Why she waited until mid-life to pursue a career as a novelist
  • Preparations and challenges transitioning to this new career
  • Difficulties selling the novel to literary agents and book publishers, and, overcoming age bias against romance novels featuring older characters
  • Success! Selling the novel to a publisher, and discovering an online audience eager for midlife romance novels
