Event Details

Social Media has changed the way we meet new people, shop, connect with family and friends, explore topics of interest, learn new skills and even share ideas. It is not surprising that the popularity of social media has grown steadily among older adults. Seniors now making up the fastest growing demographic on Facebook and interest in other social tools continue to grow among older adults.

With so much information on Social Media comes a great deal of mixed messages. Understanding how they work is key to reaping the personal and business benefits these platforms offer. Join us on October 24th to learn the basics of the popular tools that make up Social Media (Blogging, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.). Greg Keane will explain the benefits and show you how to make connections to grow your networks.

In this workshop you will learn:

  • Why you want to go online
  • What is Facebook
  • How to use LinkedIn
  • Twitter tips and terminology
  • Google Photos tools and tricks
  • Security online

This workshop is free of charge to adults 50+ and light snacks are included. Registration is requied to reserve your seat. Call 416-785-8570 or email

Ontario Society of Senior Citizens Organizations (

Ontario Society of Senior Citizens' Organizations/La Société des Organisations des Citoyens Aînés de l’Ontario (OSSCO) is a collaborative group of community minded individuals in our province who are committed to improving the quality of life for Ontario’s seniors. We do so by involving seniors through our various activities. Today, there are more than 140 organizations under OSSCO’s umbrella, representing 500,000 seniors in Ontario. In 2017, OSSCO celebrates 30 years of contributing to the quality of life for Ontario seniors.

We focus on 3 things – educational programming, research and public policy awareness. Through signature events and ongoing seniors educational programming, we keep the older adult community informed on issues of interest to an aging Ontario, and their voices heard by stakeholders.

Our Mission

Ontario Society of Seniors Citizens' Organizations is a network of organizations. We support our aging population to enhance their quality of life through education, consultation and influencing stakeholders.

Our Vision

OSSCO will be the voice of seniors
