Course title: Turning Ideas into Products: From Paper to Prototype (3 of 5)

Host: Gemma Duley, Edge of Control Consulting Inc.

Description:  This session will explore how to translate wants and needs into production and technical specifications, increasing the success of commercialization and reducing the amount of redesign to get there.  We will also review brainstorming and other creativity tools to help us figure out how to get that idea into reality.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will learn what CTQ (Critical-to-Quality) is, how to identify wants vs needs and have the opportunity to translate several of their own wants to CTQ's.
  • Participants will discuss different stages of prototyping (ie. Drawing, plasticene, 3-D model, working model)

Audience:  Innovators, inventors, entrepreneurs and small business owners.
