Event description

Description

Pathways Health Centre for Children has been identified as the Lead Agency in our community for FASD, by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services (MCYS). Together with support from our local FASD committee, we are excited to bring a 2 day workshop on FASD for families and practitioners. Nancy Hall from FASCETS Canada is going to facilitate our workshop.

FASD and the Neurobehavioural Model

You will learn...

what FASD is and how it impacts the brain,

how to reduce or eliminate the likelihood of challenging behaviours,

information about overlapping diagnosis and how this informs systems, and

how to develop individualized, person-centred accommodations that can lead to success!

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

All caregivers/family members and professionals who may support or work with an individual with FASD.

This is a 2-day training opportunity for FASD and the Neurobehavioural Model on April 25 &26, 2018, at Pathways for a minimal cost of $40.00 per person. Families and individuals who are impacted by FASD are invited to attend the event at a minimal cost of $5.00 per person. The cost includes lunch and resources.

Nancy Hall has worked as an FASD trainer and consultant for the past ten years. She has presented across Ontario and the United States at many local, national and international conferences. Nancy has co-authored a research paper on Effective Practices for the support of people with FASD and has sat as a lead member of the FASD Ontario Network of Expertise for eight years. Most recently, Nancy has completed an intensive mentorship with Diane Malbin, receiving a Mastery Trainer Certificate in the delivery of the Neurobehavioural Model.
