Inclusive Education - Why Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity are important issues for all of us.

Every person has a sexual orientation and gender identity. We have come to realize that what is common is not the same as what is ‘normal’, or possible or healthy. We all want what is best for our kids and nurturing an inclusive school environment and community is a big part of that.

Come be a part of a short introduction to sexual and gender diversity. Learn what it means and discover how the province and VSB are promoting integrated, inclusive operations, language, and practices that create positive and welcoming environments for all students.

Introduction by: Marnie Goldenberg.
A Lord Nelson parent, Marnie is a sex educator focused on supporting parents to raise sex smart kids. Her website is www.sexplainer.com

7:00pm - 8:00pm

‘ANTS in your PANTS: A Parent’s Guide to Managing your Child’s Big Feelings’

We look forward to having you join us for this one hour parent workshop. During this time you will learn a little more about self-regulation and where some of those ‘BIG’ feelings are coming from. We will spend some time becoming ANTS detectives; trying to understand what our child’s behaviour is communicating. Lastly you will leave with some practical strategies you can start using tomorrow.
