Event description

Description

For both seasoned and new poets, the blank page can be intimidating and impenetrable. Some writers need to start with a grand idea or a flash of inspiration, but many can find their way into a poem just by starting and seeing where the poem leads. In this generative-focused workshop we will try out many playful and practical ways to begin: free writing, list-making, associative leaping, and various other prompts. We will read poems to consider how other poets begin and move through their poems. Throughout, we will consider methods to tune in to your imagination and intuition, so that you’re always ready to go when you sit down to write.
