Join the Toronto Youth Cabinet for a very special Youth Week event: Breakfast with the City Manager! Have you ever wondered what it’s like to run Canada’s largest city? Come find out!
On Wednesday, May 10th, the Toronto Youth Cabinet will be hosting a breakfast fireside chat with the the current City Manager, Peter Wallace. Come enjoy a full breakfast and a unique opportunity to hear from one of the city’s top leaders.
About Peter Wallace:
Peter Wallace began his public service career with the Government of Ontario in 1981 and over more than 32 years established a legacy of distinguished leadership. He served as Secretary to Cabinet and Head of the Ontario Public Service in addition to Deputy Minister of Finance and Secretary to Treasury Board. Other senior positions include Deputy Minister of Energy and Associate Secretary of Cabinet and Deputy Minister, Policy. Most recently, he was the Ontario Public Service Visiting Fellow at the School of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Toronto.
About the City Manager’s Office:
The City Manager is the most senior official in the City's administrative structure. He is accountable to City Council for the policies and programs delivered by members of the Toronto Public Service. The City Manager is assisted by three Deputy City Managers, one of whom is also the Chief Financial Officer for the City.
