Event description

Description

We are excited to host, conversationalist and hunter, Celine Trojand in conversation with traveller and writer, Lindsay Anderson.

Please note This Tzavta starts at 4:30.

Celine Trojand

Founder and mentor of Shehunts.org, Celine empowers women to hunt and harvest in a way that aligns with their values and allows them to care for their families in an economic and environmentally conscious way. She organizes an annual hunt with up to 10 women, both experiences and new hunters to share their skills, explore the landscape of Haida Gwaii and what it means to be a wholehearted hunter.

When she's not hunting, Celine is committed to empowering citizens to organize in order to defend the places and systems that sustain us. Before becoming the Lead Organizer at Organizing for Change - where she runs a three month coaching, training and campaign support program called Campaign Accelerator - she spent seven years with Dogwood Initiative where she helped build the fiercest constituency of grassroots environmental and political organizers that BC has ever seen. ‍She’s a political nerd, farming and food enthusiast, built her own house (twice!) and is known for going on epic road trips with her husky dog, Loup.

Moderator Lindsay Anderson is a food and travel writer based in Vancouver, BC. She holds a Masters in Food Culture and Communications from the University of Gastronomic Sciences, which saw her spend (an unsurprisingly wonderful) year in Parma, Italy. After working as Tourism Richmond’s 365 Days of Dining blogger in 2012, she set out a 5-month journey across Canada with her friend and writing partner Dana VanVeller; their blog led to FEAST: Recipes and Stories from a Canadian Road Trip, a best-selling cookbook published in 2017 by Random House Canada. She currently freelances, is working on a cookbook project with the Government of Nunavut that celebrates country food, and will act as Managing Editor of a new American-based travel website to be launched in 2019.

A ticket to this event includes: a three course meal with coffee followed by approximately one hour open conversation. Cash bar is available throughout the night. Tickets are limited.

We will be releasing our October Salon in collaboration with WORDFEST in the coming week.
