Event description

Description

U School initiative from the University of Alberta’s Office of the Senate with the goal of connecting socially vulnerable and/or rural students in grade 4-9 to the possibilities of post secondary education. This year-long experience is integrated into participating student’s school year and includes a five day site visit to the University of Alberta. During the site visit, U School participants get to explore campus and meet the diverse group of people study and work there.

Without U School’s volunteer presenters, interviewees and mentors, we would not be able to provide U School students with so many incredible opportunities to connect with the possibilities that await them should they choose to attend the U of A.

To help students connect with the University of Alberta, we have created a one-hour session for student to interview people from our campus community. They will ask you about what you are doing on campus, how you got to where you are today, why you came to the U of A and much, much more. Then they will get to tell their classmates all about you.

If you have any questions, comments, or have ideas about getting involved in another way please contact Mel at melania@ualberta.ca.

Please look over your personal schedule before signing up for shifts and select your volunteer dates and times carefully for shifts you know you can commit to.
