About this Event

Canadian Wine: Online!

Register now for this online course that combines virtual learning with real world wine tasting—safe from your own home!

This six-part cultural workshop, presented by the University of Alberta's Faculty of Extension and led by restaurant owner Mike Angus of Pip offers the basics of tasting and evaluating wines from the major wine producing regions across Canada!

Guest speakers from the Canadian wine industry including winemaker (mystery guest to be announced soon!), natural wine importer Erik Mercier of Juice Imports, and award-winning chef Cindy Lazarenko will join to answer questions about all things Canadian wine, including grape varietals and major Canadian wine-producing regions. In addition to providing weekly wine and food pairings, the final class will include a live cooking segment and discussion on creating your own food & wine pairings - just in time for the holiday season!

Six types of wine will be available for purchase through Color de Vino to participants prior to the class start date. Each one-hour class includes 30 minutes of live instruction, with discussion to follow, and will be taught in English. The final class will be 1.5 hours long to include the cooking demonstration.

About our Special Guests:
