The Internet of Things on Fibre

"Driving the evolution of our

increasingly connected world"

PRESENTED BY:

Zouheir Mansourati, VP of Telus Broadband Implementation

The Internet of Things – also referred to as the Internet of Everything - has arrived. It is the interconnection of independent computing devices with the Internet. A classic use case is having a blood pressure machine at home that transmits the results to your doctor or specialist, who may be in a different city or even province. The lifeline and backbone of this future state is fibre optic technology, and it has arrived in Kelowna.

Less than 2% of Canadian communities have access to a fibre optic connection. The TELUS Fibre Optic Network will reach 90% of Kelowna in 2015, making Kelowna a leading edge urban centre while revolutionizing the way homes are connected and local businesses are able to do business and compete globally.

The construction of new homes and commercial buildings needs to keep pace with technology to meet the demands of its occupants.

Join us to hear Zouheir Mansourat, Vice President of TELUS Broadband Implementation speak about what a fibre optic network means to Kelowna residents and businesses, in addition to economic development and diversity.

You will learn:

  • Why future friendly homes and buildings equipped with fibre are what people want and need
  • How it will influence the ability to sell what is built and attract commercial tenants
  • How it will influence real estate values and differentiate your product in the residential marketplace

Furthermore, you will learn how a fibre network provides municipalities, businesses and residents with enormous opportunities in the fields of health, education and business. Learn how and why fibre can provide your organization with the services it needs to operate locally and compete globally – for today and for whatever tomorrow brings.
