Get ready for our last ULPC event of the year, coming up on Friday December 9th, 2022! Join us for an in-person open mic at the Origin Arts & Community Centre featuring the extraordinary Sydellia Ndiaye! You won’t want to miss this show.
Doors open at 7:00pm EST and show starts at 7:30 SHARP!
This event is Pay What You Can, with a suggested donation of $10. Ticket sales will open on Monday November 28th at 7pm EST. Note that this event is limited capacity, separate tickets must be bought for every attendee so we know how many people to expect, and be sure to get your tickets early to ensure you've got a spot reserved.

If, for any reason, you are not able to buy a ticket but wish to attend, please let us know and we will add you to the list (unless tickets are sold out). Poets who sign up to perform are not required to buy a ticket.
We will have COVID-19 regulations for this event. Attendees must wear a mask and seating will be distanced. Proof of double-vaccination and identification will be required to access this event, except where the attendee has a relevant exemption. All attendees will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms, hand sanitizer will be provided, and frequently-touched surfaces will be regularly sanitized. Sydellia Ndiaye is an internationally recognized, veteran, spoken word artist who received her start in what is considered to be home to some of the world’s best slam poets, Chicago. The Senegalese-American artist has been blessed to touch souls all over the world by performing her spoken word in North America, Europe and Africa.
Sydellia has also competed in several competitions throughout her career. She was one of the top 8 finalists in the “RISE AND FLOW” Emerging Artist Competition 2020 organized by R.I.S.E Edutainment and the winner of the April 2020 Toronto Poetry Slam put on by one of the largest poetry organizations in Toronto. She is currently the champion of the Toronto Poetry Slam 2022 and 2nd place winner of the Canadian Individual Poetry Slam, a national poetry competition held in Vancouver yearly.
Outside of Spoken Word, Ndiaye is a mental health advocate who has partnered with several mental health organizations and initiatives.Truth and love are discussed synonymously in our world but seldom practiced. Sydellia believes her destiny is to exercise the purity of speaking truth and spreading love while moving hearts and limbs through the power of spoken word.
