The UNB IP Hackathon is being organized by the University of New Brunswick's Office of Research Services (ORS) as an event to foster new Startup creations.

This is an opportunity for people interested in entrepreneurship to possibly start a business using university developed technologies.

Throughout the weekend, ORS will present and put forward technologies suitable for new ventures with co-organizers Planet Hatch and Propel ICT delivering workshops to help groups create an initial business model to help them determine if the technology that they are exploring as a new venture is one in which they would want to continue pursuing commercialization following the weekend.

Those that wish to continue pursuing the opportunity will work with ORS to establish transfer agreements and receive additional mentorship from Planet Hatch to further explore the opportunity and become prepared to enter the Spring Propel ICT cohort.

This is a group/team based event. We will be providing descriptions of the technologies prior to the event and will form groups at the start of the weekend with those interested in the technologies. Multiple groups can work on the same technology.

Participants do not need to have a technical background or business experience. This event is open to the public.
