Event description

Description

Are you curious about how the Canadian health care system actually works? Why you can, for example, set-up an appointment with your family physician or walk into a hospital's Emergency Department at no charge, but have to pay after a visit to a dentist or optometrist?

And who makes up the rules for health care anyway? Who pays for it?

If these are some of the questions that you've had rolling around in that brain of yours, you've come to the right place! The Canadian health care experience can seem complicated—and maybe a bit frustrating at times. But it's not impossible to understand with a little help from a guide. Come learn about the health system—about how we've evolved to what we have now, the rules that govern it, who the major players are, and some resources that might be helpful when interacting with it.

This is 'no-charge', free event.
