Premiering on February 27th, 2020 is the 2021 UNGANISHA Script Reading of “MAYBE.” The live virtual performance features a script written by Misha Maseka based on the short story “Irreplaceable” written by the winner of our 2020 UNGANISHA Story Writing Competition, Jay Sanni and directed by Omatta Udalor.

The story follows the character Nandi as she battles between two versions of her self andstruggles to accept a miscarriage. As she goes back and forth between denial and anger, the reality of being married to the “perfect man” subconsciously plagues her while she attempts to start her healing journey. Kasim struggles to find a way to understand his grieving wife and heal his own lifelong anger.

The intimate performance is a collaboration between emerging, pre-professional and professional artists in Calgary and will surely leave audiences moved.
