United Voices Choir invites you to our Spring Concert, with professional orchestra and soloists, under the direction of Dr. Greg Caisley
About this event
ARISE!
United Voices Choir, accompanied by professional soloists and orchestra, invites you to celebrate the joy of spring while listening to uplifting and glorious music in the beautiful sanctuaries of two of Vancouver’s popular churches, Kerrisdale Presbyterian (May 14) and St. Paul’s Anglican in the West End (May 15).
Mozart’s Vesperae solennes de Confessore is an exquisite setting of five psalms. It features his famous soprano solo Laudate Dominum and concludes with the stirring Magnificat.
Puccini’s Messa di Gloria is his largest non-operatic work, written when he was 20 years old. The warmth of the Kyrie, the exuberance of the Gloria, the prominence of the soloists and the lush Puccini melodies throughout create a wonderful blend of the sacred and the operatic.
These two works, although very different, are both packed with glorious, uplifting music. Perfect for a spring afternoon!
Tickets are $25 and only available on Eventbrite.
Please note, we suggest audience members wear masks and remain as physically distanced as possible. COVID is still with us and we want everyone to enjoy our concerts as safely and comfortably as possible.
