United Way Kick-Off 2013: Stone Soup: Ingredients for Life

The excitement and energy around this year’s kick-off is a great jump start to our 2013 fundraising initiatives!
The theme of our kick-off is “Stone Soup: Ingredients for Life”. It is based on the classic tale of Stone Soup by Jon J. Muth (see video below).
Your participation at the kick-off – and in our 2013 fundraising campaign – is vital to “nourishing” our community.
We are attempting to break the Guinness World Record forlargest pot of soup, and as an attendee, you are invited to bring one of 9 items to contribute to this goal: 1) onions, 2) celery, 3) carrots, 4) potatoes, 5) peppers, 6) garlic, 7) zucchini, 8) squash, or 9) corn.
Please bring vegetables in its natural state. Raw and unprepared.
Please read the details for each ingredient ticket so as to know the quantity you are to bring to this event.
You may be involved in 3 activities on site:
1. "Think Tank Activities" - help come up with solutions to current issues our community is facing
2. "Market Place" Impact Booths -Visit information booths about various aspects and pillars of United Way
3. Prep Stations - help peel/cut/prepare the raw ingredients to put into the soup
DRESS CODE: CASUAL (You may be cutting/prepping vegetables and possibly getting dirty)
The soup we make together on Friday, September 13th will be shared with community partners for distribution across the Peel Region.
