THE HONOURABLE BOB RAE

Robert Keith Rae is a Canadian lawyer, negotiator, public speaker, and former politician. He was the Member of Parliament for Toronto Centre and was the interim leader of the Liberal Party of Canada from 2011 to 2013. In 2017, he was asked by the Prime Minister to serve as a Special Envoy to Myanmar to report on the Rohingya crisis.


Keynote Presentation, and Fireside Chat with two students from Myanmar

Thursday March 5th, 2020 from 7-9 PM in LH1001

The Honourable Bob Rae will be delivering a keynote presentation on universities’ moral obligation to respond to humanitarian crises. He will also be discussing the current Rohingya crisis and the opportunities for universities to respond and make a difference. In addition, Mr. Rae will interview two students from Myanmar currently studying in Vietnam about their experiences acessing higher education.


Parking

Wilfrid Laurier University is located at 75 University Ave. W., Waterloo, ON N2L 3C5. If you’re visiting the university for the day, there are four pay-and-display parking lots (lots 4, 10, 12, and 20) available from 7 am to 11pm. Pay-and-display machines are located at the entrances to lots 10 and 20. The cost is $3 per hour or $10 per day, and you can pay with quarters, loonies, toonies, or credit card.

Accessible parking spaces are available in numerous visitor parking locations throughout campus. Please view Laurier’s Laurier’s Waterloo campus parking map for these locations. If you are coming to The Hon. Bob Rae’s keynote address at Lazaridis Hall in the evening of March 5, we recommend parking in Lot 32 (Lazaridis Hall).
