Event Details

In this one day course we will explore the major renewable energy systems: the technologies, applications, constraints, economics, integration and installation.

This course is based on the use of NrCan's RETScreen analysis tool.

In this course we will examine:  

 

  • Solar thermal hot water, solar air heating, solar PV, concentrating solar technologies, geothermal, wind, solar air
  • Major technologies
  • Economics
  • Market reviews including typical government support programs
  • Installation including regulatory and system connection issues
  • Building mounted and stand-alone systems (e.g. ground mounted tracking systems, building mounted wind turbines)
  • Metering, maintenance
  • Lifecycle analysis

A Certificate of Achievement in Renewable Energy Systems from the School of the Environment, University of Toronto is issued on completion of this course.
