Event description
An opportunity to explore how technology can be leveraged to create a more integrated and effective healthcare system.

About this Event

Imagine your cell phone being able to diagnose a cough. Or a patient being able to predict when they were going to have a COPD exacerbation from home. Or having the ability to comprehensively assess your patients’ health status using only your cellphone. Digital health technology has the potential to change the way we deliver healthcare in a way that is sustainable and demonstrates real results. Unlocking the Future of Healthcare: Digital Health Forum, will bring together key experts to delve into this rapidly changing and timely issue – all with the ultimate goal of improving health outcomes from prevention right through to quality of life.

Ontario’s healthcare system is evolving, and as we move toward an Ontario Health Team (OHT) model of care delivery, the goal is four-fold:

• To improve patient experience

• To improve healthcare provider experience

• To improve health outcomes

• Achieve all of the above in a cost effective manner

The use of digital technology is crucial if we want to be a leader in healthcare. Status quo is no longer an option. This forum will feature digital health solutions that are paving the way, demonstrating valuable results and have been included in the Ministry of Health's Digital Health Service Catalogue as well as respiratory specific digital solutions.

Unlocking the Future of Healthcare will feature presentations from healthcare solutions providers, such as OntarioMD, Ontario Telemedicine Network, eHealth Centre of Excellence and CloudDX, focusing on the innovation they have developed and how it can be leveraged to improve respiratory care. The forum will also feature a presentation on the OHT Digital Health Strategy from the Assistant Deputy Minister, Digital Health, Greg Hein. Presentations will be followed by a panel discussion to better inform clinicians about how they can adopt and use health technology while prioritizing their patients’ needs and expectations. The discussion will also highlight the role technology can play in supporting the main goals of the OHT digital strategy; greater data management and sharing, increased access to virtual care; and improved patient access to health information.

This event will take place right after the Ontario Lung Association's Better Breathing Conference , however the event is open to all regardless of conference attendance.

Lunch will be provided.
