Unveiling: A multidimensional definition of child poverty in Calgary
Fri, 24 March 2017, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM PDT
The Canadian Poverty Institute will present the results of a year-long study on child poverty in Calgary. The study's aim was to arrive at a multidimensional definition of child poverty that would inform discourse and practice in this city. Our team has successfully developed 4 types of poverty that combine differently to form various scenarios of child poverty. The Institute will also be seeking agencies and service providers that will incorporate this definition of child poverty into their practice for one year. There will be opportunity for discussion of the new definition as well as for professional networking.
