About this event
Join the International Student and Study Abroad Centre (ISSAC) for an information session before departing to Canada. This pre-arrival session will ensure USask international students have a smooth transition from their home country, during transit to Canada and their initial days in Saskatoon.
The information, presented by ISSAC International Education Officers and student assistants, will cover a variety of information including:
- Mental preparation for leaving home
- What to pack in your suitcase for your travels
- What documents to bring with you during your travels
- What to expect at the Canadian border
- What arrangements you should make before coming to Canada
- Ex. Housing and a ride from the Saskatoon Airport
- Services available through the International Student and Study Abroad Centre
- Activities available and how to make friends during your initial days in Saskatoon
- Preparing for the Canadian winter
- Much, much more!
Session is intended for USask degree-seeking and exchange international students. Information mostly relevant to students who have yet to travel to Canada or who will arrive in December 2022 for the Winter 2023 semester.
Zoom link for this digital session will be provided 24-48 hours before the session to all registrants.
