Using Sandtray play with various populations.
This advanced training in Sandtray play provides participants with the opportunity to practice skills learned in their foundational Play Therapy Sandplay Training.
Each week will have a different theme. Participants can sign up for one or more modules
By the end of this training participants will:
Week 1 Review required and suggested tools utilized in the sandtray play for healing within a playroom.
Week 2 Discuss tools required for the portable kit.
Week 3 Articulate how this process can be utilized in a psychoanalytic process.
Week 4 Articulate how this process can be utilized when doing short term solution focussed work.
Week 5 Review the use of sandtrayplay with children.
Week 6 Review the use of sandtrayplay with teens /groups.
Week 7 Review the use of sandtrayplay with couples /adults.
Week 8 Review the use of sandtray play in family work.
Week 9 Review the use of sandtrayplay in your own practice and as part of self care/supervision.
Participants will receive reading material prior to each session and they are required to come prepared to discuss the article and it's applicability to the participants work/process. Each session will have an article review, pp that is shared with participants and time to Play in the sand, ending with an evening debrief.
Participants are required to have access to their own sandtray and miniatures as well as a camera and journal and a computer with reliable internet service and camera.
Each session costs $25 per hour plus applicable taxes and can be paid by email transfer by emailing email@example.com using Training in the subject line and using the password playtherapy. Cancellations can be made up to a week before the training.
Presentations occur during the Week 9 evening for any participants that want a continuing education certificate for approved training with the Canadian Association for Child and Play Therapy. For example, if participants attend 5 sessions and week 9 they will get 9 hours of CEU's. If they only attend 1 session and week 9 they will get 3 hours of CEU's as each individual session is 1.5 hours. The final presentation is a reflective practice experience using the sandtray. Theresa will be hosting during EDT.
Theresa is an approved Provider of Play Therapy training from the Canadian Institute for Child and Play Therapy.
She is a Certified Play Therapy Supervisor and a Registered Psychotherapist in the province of Ontario. Theresa is a Child and Youth Care Practitioner, has a Masters' Degree in Counselling Psychology and is a Trauma and Loss Clinical Specialist. Theresa has also completed a training in Death and Dying and sacred vigiling for the dying. She studied 6 levels of Sandtray Worldplay with Dr. Gisela De Domenico.
