Event description
How we can use mindfulness and meditation practices to find balance, calm, and strength?

About this event

Details:

Do you ever find yourself overwhelmed with “big” emotions? Please join us for this interactive and experiential session where you will learn how mindfulness can help you work with challenging emotions.

Topics will include:

  • Understanding your emotions, and why you need to experience the full spectrum of emotions; you just don’t want to get stuck in the more challenging ones.
  • Learning UM’s SHF technique and how it can be applied to these emotional experiences when they arise.
  • Learning about Life practice. Meditation is not only about finding time to sit on one’s cushion. You will learn about formal practice, microhits, and background practice, and the flexibility of practicing anytime, anywhere.

The evening will include some theory, practical mindfulness exercises and techniques, questions & discussion, reflection and teaching around what arises for participants during the session.

Note: This workshop will be suitable for all levels of experience with mindfulness.
