USMCA: Now What?

In Conversation with former U.S. Ambassador to Canada Bruce Heyman

Canada 2020 Studio Series | December 5, 2018 | 5:00 - 6:00 PM

On December 5th, 2018, Canada 2020 will host former United States Ambassador to Canada, Bruce Heyman, in our studio for an expert discussion on the USMCA deal.

On September 30th of this year, the United States, Mexico, and Canada announced the completion of negotiations toward a new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) to replace the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

Two months on from the deal's announcement, we want to know: now what? Are Canada, the US and Mexico able to have a productive trading relationship? Did the new deal address some of the inadequacies of its predecessor, NAFTA? Have the U.S. midterm election results changed anything? And how have companies and policymakers all sides been adapting to the new deal?

Join Canada 2020 Special Adviser Bruce Heyman on our stage for a robust discussion on USMCA's genesis, its path forward to ratification, what it means for North American consumers.

Registration is free and open to the public.
