Event description

Description

Please join us on November 20th, 1 to 5pm at SFU Harbour Centre for the BC UX Interest Group Fall Workshop. (With an optional bring your own lunch meet-up at 12:30.)

In this workshop, participants will learn about tools and techniques to improve the user experience of a library space or service. We’ll apply these learnings to practical activities throughout the afternoon.

Do you have a library UX project or problem that you’d like to share? Maybe it’s one you’ve recently completed or are working on right now. Click here to pitch your project, and we’ll work with you to turn it into a practical workshop activity. The submission deadline is October 20.

Projects can include physical or digital examples, such as:

  • Improving wayfinding

  • Space reconfiguration or renovation

  • Redesigning a service

  • Updating your library’s website or part of it

  • Configuring a search interface

Thanks to the generosity of SFU Library, this event is free of charge! Refreshments will be provided during the coffee break.

Hope to see you there,

If you prefer not to use Eventbrite to register for privacy reasons, please contact Janis McKenzie at SFU https://www.lib.sfu.ca/users/janis-mckenzie.

Organized by BC UX Interest Group: Tania Alekson (Capilano University), Michel Castagné (Capilano University), Anita Chan (Burnaby Public Library), Natalya Lebedeva (UBC iSchool), Janis McKenzie (SFU), Elizabeth Padilla (BCIT) and Joyce Wong (Langara College)
