About this event
This Concert Series was conceived months ago for the 50th Anniversary of the incredible place we know as the Brackendale Art Gallery. We had all hoped that Thor Froslev, who dreamed the BAG into existence, would have been here for this celebration but that wasn’t to be. His spirit will be with us.
Doors at 7pm
Showtime at 8pm
Valdy is a Canadian living legend with dedicated fans throughout the whole of Canada. His tour schedules are truly impressive as is his recoding career. Valdy is the winner of two Juno Awards for Folk Singer of the Year and Folk Entertainer of the Year, and has received seven additional Juno nominations. His fourteen albums have achieved sales of nearly half a million copies, four of which are certified gold. Of Canadian folk artists in the mid-1970s, only Gordon Lightfoot was more popular. Valdy was appointed a member of the Order of Canada in June 2011. Valdy has played the BAG countless times, most notably almost every Brackendale Bald Eagle Festival for nearly 30 years.

"Valdy's show is a disarming and practical blend of respect for the audience and show business expertise." Edmonton Journal
About our host Norman Foote:
Norman’s passion for songwriting, story telling and comedy has taken him to amazing concerts and communities throughout the world. His ability to find ageless melodies and interesting subject matter brings laughter and singing to audiences big and small. He has gathered music awards along the way including a Juno and several WCMA awards. Norman has written and recorded for Disney records, CBC, Shari Lewis, Max and Ruby, with 10 albums of his own.
“I learned to play the audience at an early age. As soon as I could play a few chords on guitar my mother would ask me to play whenever company came over. It was a challenge I was up for.”
“Music has the power to take us to another place, another time. Move your heart and change your mind.”
