Event description

Description

Valeria Luiselli is one of Mexico's most innovative young writers. An acclaimed writer of both fiction and nonfiction, Luiselli appears to discuss her new book, Lost Children Archive.

This urgent and empathetic novel follows a family on a road trip across America as they head toward the southwestern border following news of an "immigration crisis". Both an intimate story of a family in motion and an exploration into the nature of justice and equality today, Luiselli presents an indelible journey told with breathtaking imagery, spare lyricism, and profound humanity.

Hear Luiselli in conversation with Garvia Bailey.

Q&A and book signing to follow. Books available for purchase.

Please don't print your tickets! We're trying to reduce paper waste for Salon events, so please don't bother printing your ticket. We'll either either scan your ticket on your smartphone or quickly find your name on our tablets and check you in.

Arrive early, meet people. The talk starts at 7pm, but doors open at 6pm, so come early so you can chat with some of your fellow literature lovers, and make new friends. As with all Salon events, we'll have a full bar with a selection of beers, wine, and liquor, as well as sandwiches and snacks.

A note about tickets: As most Appel Salon events are free, it is our policy to overbook. In case of a full program, your ticket reservation may not guarantee admission. We recommend you arrive early.
