Spirit of Math Vancouver - Summer Camp
Grades 4-6: Golden Ratio & Contest Prep
(Optional Add-On: Chess2Inspire 1/2 day camp)
Morning Session: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Golden Ratio & Contest Prep - by Spirit of Math Schools Inc.
The Golden Ratio was so pleasing to the eye that at one time in history it even became a “decree absolute” for the rules governing the shape and disposition of drawing, paintings, and architecture.
Students taking this program will be “discovering” the golden ratio and looking at its implications in nature. Students will also be preparing for the upcoming Mathematica competitions. Drills and several mPODs® (Math Problem of the Day) will also be completed each day. This program is for students entering grades 4, 5 or 6 in the coming school year.
Optional Afternoon Add-On: 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Fun with Chess - Rules, Tactics @ Phases of the Game (Gr. 2-9) – by Chess2Inspire
Spirit of Math is excited to announce that we have partnered up with the Chess2Inspire summer camp, giving families the option of levelling up their half-day of engaging math enrichment to a full day of learning fun!
About the Camp:

The target audience of the summer camps are for students from grades 2 to 9 who have little or no experience in chess. Chess has been proven to be a tremendous benefit to childrens’ cognitive and social development. The Summer Camp introduces students to the proper rules and basic knowledge of different phases of the game of chess. The Camp consists of lessons, game practices, tournaments and fun activities.
