Hackers, military advocates, corporate insurance providers, citizen activist groups have argued for a means to take the fight to the cyber criminal/attacker as a means of deterrence. This presentation examines cyber-deterrence through the lens of public policy and social responsibility. Presented are the preliminary findings of a survey and tentative implications for computer security professionals.

We hold joint meetings together with the ISSA Vancouver Chapter, as part of bringing the information security community in Vancouver together.
