Description

The City of Vaughan and York Region invite you to our Bicycle Friendly Community Workshop, presented by Share the Road Cycling Coalition. Share the Road is a provincial cycling advocacy organization working to build a bicycle-friendly Ontario. There will be an afternoon session from 12 to 4 p.m. and a shorter evening session from 6 to 8 p.m.

Working Day Session (12-4 p.m.* | 4hrs) will include:

(* Arrive early to register and grab lunch)

  • A progress update on the City’s Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan study

  • A look at bicycle friendly examples set by communities like Vaughan

  • A visioning and goal-setting exercise for short and medium-term timelines which will inform the Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan Update

  • Discussion regarding engagement of community stakeholders and identification of roles and responsibilities

World Café Evening Session (6-8 p.m. | 2hrs) will include:

  • Introduce community members and cycling advocates to three key actions or topics identified during the day session

  • Allow community to provide feedback on work plan from day session
