The Veterans House in Ottawa specifically targets the needs of the rising number of homeless veterans who are "living rough" in our city.

The community will include support services designed to meet the particular needs of homeless or precariously housed veterans in the Ottawa area. The supportive “Housing First” housing model will help these individuals gain stable housing, and recover from health, mental health and addiction-related issues. The supported housing model is designed to improve their overall quality of life, as well as the lives of their families who are unable to provide them with the support that they need.

For this Veterans House initiative, MHI will own the Veterans House building and manage the property. Built on the former CFB Rockcliffe Airbase Lands in Ottawa, the proposed building will comprise three floors of living space, one floor of communal space to meet the "grouping" needs of the military culture along with outdoor space that will include quiet sitting areas as well as space to accomodate the needs for residents with service dogs.
