Omari Newton's acting career has included a number of critically acclaimed television series and feature film projects including Blue Mountain State, Continuum, Marvel Animated Projects, Super Natural, Max Steel and much more!


Vancouver Film School is coming to your city in search of Canada’s next generation of Film & Television Actors.

This is your chance to audition live, in your hometown in front of an elite panel of VFS faculty instructors, alumni & industry professionals.

ABOUT THE ON-CAMERA AUDITION:

We want to get to know a little about you. We want to see you act on camera. Keep it real and connected.

To prep:

  • find and learn two contrasting pieces from contemporary Film, TV or Play scripts (these should be no more than ONE minute each)
  • find one monologue and one scene (two person scenes are best)
  • look for a strong range in material/characters - for example one comedy and one drama
  • find characters that are age appropriate (in a castable range)
  • rehearse the pieces
  • memorize the scripts

What to know for the audition:

  • You will have 15 minutes for your audition
  • It is an on camera audition, in front of a panel
  • You will be asked to present 2 contrasting pieces (one monologue and one scene)
  • Bring two copies of the scene and monologue with you
  • Be ready to share about your experiences as an actor or bring your creative resume.
