Victoria County Business Dinner

The Cape Breton Partnership invites you to attend the Victoria County Business Dinner, which will be hosted by the Cape Breton Regional Enterprise Network on Thursday, May 17 at the Keltic Lodge at the Highlands. You are welcomed to join members of the private sector community for an evening to celebrate and support local business, foster collaboration, and engage in discussion.

The event will feature a keynote address from Mike MacSween (Executive Director, Celtic Colours International Festival), as well as an update from CBREN Economic Development Officer for Victoria County, Patrick Austin. A three-course meal (including a starter, chicken dinner, and dessert) will be served, and the evening will be an opportunity for the local business community to network and explore opportunities for the year ahead.

Attendees are encouraged to stay, following the Business Dinner, and take part in social networking at the Keltic Lodge. If you are planning to stay the night, please contact the Keltic Lodge at 1-800-565-0444 to take advantage of the evening's room rate for those attending the Business Dinner.

Mike MacSween
Executive Director, Celtic Colours International Festival

Mike has been the Executive Director of Celtic Colours International Festival since October 2016, and also serves as Chair of the Celtic Heart of North America Cooperative. Mike is passionate about Cape Breton, and the importance of protecting and celebrating our history and culture – passion that serves him well in his current role with the Festival. In the past, Mike has served in numerous roles, having spent time working for the Province of Nova Scotia as a Corporate Strategist and Executive Assistant, and prior to this he served for several years as Provincial Secretary & CEO of the Nova Scotia New Democratic Party and Executive Director of the Sydney and Area Chamber of Commerce.

Mike is a graduate of Cape Breton University, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Certificate in Public Administration. He also served as the President of the Students Union for two years during his studies there.

Organizer Cape Breton Regional Enterprise Network

Organizer of Victoria County Business Dinner

The Cape Breton Regional Enterprise Network (REN) is a collaborative effort between the Province of Nova Scotia through the Department of Municipal Affairs, the Municipalities of Inverness, Richmond, & Victoria Counties, and Eskasoni, Membertou, & We’koqma’q First Nations. The Cape Breton REN activities are delivered by the Cape Breton Partnership with oversight from a private sector Board of Directors. The Network’s primary goals are to lead regional economic strategies, support the development and attraction of new businesses, and the retention and expansion of existing businesses.
