Event description
As members of a compassionate online community, we will engage in nature connection activities to foster rest, rejuvenation & reconnection.

About this Event

This will be a time for us to gather as a small supportive online community to engage in relaxing, reflective and creative nature connection activities.

Participants from other events have reported physical, emotional, social and/or spiritual benefits from their participation. Generally, people receive what they are seeking at the time.

People are invited to modify the activities in a manner that works for them and participate in a location that is comfortble and safe (including Covid-safe) such as in a park, on a balcony or indoors by a window and potted plant. This program is intended to be inclusive of people who live with limitations associated with disability, chronic illness or aging. You are welcome to bring a support assistant along on the journey with you at no additional cost.

This progam is led by volunteers of the EcoWisdom Forest Preserve and all funds go to cover basic program costs such as internet connection. The 200-acre EcoWisdom Forest Preserve is located near Algonquin Park of Ontario, Canada where we live in an off-grid cabin and experience four distinct seasons. During this particular session, we will be preparing ourselves for the arrival of winter and there is a good chance we will have snow on the ground! The photos and video resources used during this program are all from the forest preserve which is home to wolves, bear, moose, elk, deer and pine martins as well as many other precious creatures of creation. We will also introduce you to this beautiful wild Canadian landscape during our onsite "live" outdoor tea ceremony. See EcoWisdom.ca for more information.

Participants are encouraged to prepare a snack of fresh fruit or veggies for the break as well as a thermous of herbal tea for the concluding ceremony.

The facilitation team will include: Kari who has a PhD in psychology and a background as an academic health researcher, forest therapy guide, interfaith spiritual director and meditation leader; David who is an internationally renown award-winning environmental educator; and Alyssa who is a biomedical science student on full-scholarship who is interested in the intersection of art, nature and biochemisty.
