virtual KAIROS Blanket Exercise (vKBE)
Event Information
About this event
The KAIROS Blanket Exercise is a learning activity delivered through a unique perspective and engages participants through virtual role-play. Participants trace the history of the relationship between settlers and Indigenous Peoples in Canada, with a diminishing blanketed area representing the taking of the land and providing for an appreciation of the resilience and resistance of Indigenous peoples through ongoing colonialism.
This unique event reflects our collective commitment to reconciliation and in support of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action 57, which calls upon the federal, provincial, territorial governments and municipal governments to provide education opportunities on the history of Indigenous peoples. RCMP participants will earn a HRMIS credit for completion of this learning opportunity.
