About this event

In the same year that the Sustainable Development Goals were launched, a groundbreaking community-led innovation summit which brought together both Indigenous and non-Indigenous social innovators, youth, elders, and individuals from across Canada highlighted the scarcity of capital available for Indigenous innovation and the urgent need for an innovation platform by and for Indigenous people. In the 7 years since then, there has been growing momentum towards a robust and dynamic Indigenous innovation ecosystem and there are more investors and partners committed to supporting the most impactful Indigenous innovations and advancing SDGs 1, 5 and 10, despite the numerous challenges and barriers in access to the culturally distinct supports they need to thrive.

Join the Director of Canada’s first Indigenous innovation platform, Sara Wolfe, in a tell-all roundtable with 3 other trailblazers in the Indigenous impact investing space who have actively engaged their work to uncover the essentials that anyone looking to enhance or grow their support for Indigenous innovators should know.

We will answer your burning questions, including: What are the most impactful Indigenous innovations? Where do Indigenous innovators see the intersection of the SDGs in their work? What does successful impact investing look like in the Indigenous context? What do Indigenous innovators need in order to transform ideas into meaningful impact in their communities? What are the current investment gaps and how can we do better?

We all play a role in Indigenous innovation. Supporting outcomes that matter most to First Nation, Inuit and Métis peoples in Canada aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals and provides the opportunity to collectively co-create our shared future. We look forward to sharing the intimate details of how to uplift Indigenous innovation with you.
